Notes: Paris, Hotel de Thou, 1780. First French edition. Half calf over paper boards, spine gilt with red morocco label. Chip to lower margin of half title, light foxing on the first few leaves. Folding frontispiece map and 28 plates, 7 folding. The plates are collected at the back of the volume, which differs from the presentation in the First English Edition. Also in this edition the Magindanao Vocabulary is listed with their French translations.
Bookplate of Le Compte de Woronzow-Daschkaw on front paste down, and his stamp on the half-title. Good condition. Captain Forrest first published an account of this voyage in 1779. Howgego F60. MP/kb
