First edition. Original pictorial red cloth, front board and spine stamped in gilt and black, rear board panelled in blind. Numerous black & white illustrations and maps, including 2 folding plates and 1 folding map. No dust jacket. Cloth rubbed, soiled, and stained. Corners bumped and lightly worn. Spine faded, with a couple closed tears near the head. Each folding plate with a repair at the fold, without loss. Good condition.
