Bridgman (Percy Williams) was awarded the Nobel Prize in physics in 1946 for his work dealing with extreme pressures, some of which eventually led to the manufacture of synthetic diamonds. This particular treatise was significant enought to have been reprinted by both Peter Smith and Dover.
Very handsome copy of the book with no names, writing or other notable defects. Dustwrapper lacks sm triangular piece at top front, has several closed tears and is quite faded (to buff on spine). Still, quite unusual to find this in dw at all. VG+/g.
