Notes: Chicago, Electrician Publishing Co., 1894. Sm 12mo (4" X 6"), [6] 146p. xv (ads.), blindstamped blue-gray cloth with gilt cover title. Written 18 years after the telephone's invention, the author stated this to be "The first practical book on American telephone methods". Nicely illustrated and and, within its limits, reasonably comprehensive. This copy signed & inscribed to the AIEE (of which Webb was a member) and formerly housed in the famous Eng. Scocieties' Library in New York with their bookplate. Covers somewhat soiled and mildly worn with spine faded under call number & title handwritten. Inner hinges tender, o/w internally quite clean and still sound. A very good copy.
