Slightly altered second edition of Carnot's seminal treatise in thermodynamics written originally in 1824. Contains also biographical material, Lord Kelvin's paper and other writings of Carnot.
Very minor wear to extremities of covers. Front endpaper has almost invisible owner's name and date and (much more visible) erased price in top rt corner with brown color worn through to white. No other notable faults- quite a nice copy overall, and rather scarce at this time.
