London Longmans Green and Co. 1866. 8vo xvi 237p. + 24p. ads. original blindruled green cloth with gilt spine title. a couple of illustrations and three hand-coloured maps in the text. Col. Greenwood (1799- 1875) was an early o utspoken advocate of fluvial processes in valley formation and correspondingly one of the pioneers of stratigraphy. Rather scarce book in its original state. Moderate wear and a little silverfishing to covers- top corners bumped. Owner's name on front endpaper & inner hinges tender- no other markings. Still clean and bright- a better copy than it perhaps sounds- very good.
