Notes: 8vo, 563p., library rebound in black buckram. Title misspelled- "Radioactive". Compiled posthumously by Curie's daughter & her husband. Includes illus., tables, diagrams, ports. (frontis.), 26 plates. Based on available evidence, the first 2 vol. ed. was incorrectly paginated in the second volume and this one volume edition was issued the same year (apparently but not really 5 pages longer) to correct that deficiency. Thus it becomes the second issue of the first (and to our knowledge, only) edition. Almost no visible wear since rebinding, traces remain of spine label, marked-through edge stamps, original owner's name at top of tp, one additional library stamp. Pages browning a bit- clean. VG+.
