The first part of the book (about 1/2) deals generally with mercury- mining, alchemy, scientific instruments, etc. The remainder concentrates on mercury from a physiological or medicinal viewpoint. Nicely illustrated, chiefly with period engravings. Extensive indices and copious references will please the discriminating scholar. Very minor wear to extremities of covers, "CP" on spine in faded library ink. Internally, altogether clean and unmarked. A very good copy.
