Washington, D.C., Smithsonian Institution, 1902, 2d edition (reprint of 1891 ed.). 4to (10" x 13"), 115p. + 10 plates (most folding), original green cloth with blank spine & gilt lettering & ornamentation. Describes and illustrates beautifully a 60' whirling table that Langley used as a predecessor to the modern wind tunnel. This title has been reprinted by the AIAA for c. $30.00 (photo reduction) but is so small & plates badly done as to be nearly useless.
Generalized wear to cover extremities. Apparent accident with bottle of white ink (?) leaving smudges on back cover and "Modern art" (or plumbing diagram)- like stain on front cover. Quite sound & internally unmarked- VG thus.
