8vo, xvii 435p., blue cloth with gilt lettering, no dw (as issued?). Edited by George Rapp Jr. & John A. Gifford who also collaborated on the first article, "History, Philosophy & Perspectives". Excellent treatment of quite an unusual subject. Inscription reads, "For Bob Maddin, even an 'old' archaeometallurgist might learn some new tricks". Maddin is/was (?) Honorary Curator of Archeological Sciences at the Peabody Museum of Archeology and Ethnology, Harvard and edited himself the well-known Beginning of the Use of Metals and Alloys. The inscription is signed "Rip Rapp".
Except for the inscription, the volume is quite clean and without notable defects- VG+
