B/w plate with photo of Hamilton in frontis, foldout map of the march's path at back, 9 maps and plans as cuts in text. Bound in recent crimson morocco leather stamped in gilt against compartments with raised bands at spine, and both blindstamped and stamped in gilt along edges of front and back. No DJ, as issued, but a crimson cloth slipcase in near-fine condition. Top edge gilt. Interior is clean and complete but for mild foxing throughout and the final two pages of ads (31-32) being removed. An absolutely lavish copy of Churchill's follw-up to "London to Ladysmith via Pretoria." VG/none. arp/jamie5
