London: Ernest Benn Limited 1953 1st Edition 4to. unpaginated (24pp.) 8.25 x 11in Quarter bound in beige buckram over original decorative paper boards. An ellaborate layout incorporating a series of die cuts and shapes which highlight the story narrative. Head & foot of spine a little rubbed; Board's extremeties are also a little shelf worn in places and also show minor soiling and wrinkling in a few places. Bottom corners to all pages & rear board are little bumped. Internally clean save for the small inscriptions by previous onwer inked to the both the bottom of title page and rear pastedown. "Fillyjonk" do-it-yourself frame still remains blank and in it's original state. Overall a good copy this children's collectible illustrated by Tove Jansson. DSR
