Limited Edition Portfolio from printing of 1000; 16 lithograph plates printed on vellum and kept in their original issue, illustrated folder; Coye was essentially a self taught artist whose superior knowledge of anatomy grew out the work he did as a medical illustrator; he is also alleged to have attended a great number of operations & autopsies and this experience doubtless also informs the realism evident in his own gothic style.
