50x33cm. Limited edition, number 61 of 2500, signed twice by James Michener and Jack Levine. A white silk-covered solander box with gilt lettering and a leather closure, containing 2 portfolios: one in white silk with a leather closure, the other in limp black leather. Portfolio 1 contains Michener's text, as well as 10 original woodcuts and 4 original lithographs by Levine. Portfolio 2 contains 54 reproduced watercolors, gouaches and drawings by Levine.
Box exterior rubbed, soiled and toned. Signatures on the inside of the box lid smudged. A few leaves with minor foxing and creasing. Very good. JGC/beh (oversize north)
